Even though John and Stephanie loved their starter home in Wauwatosa, they felt it was time to remodel their only bathroom after bringing home their newborn daughter. Stephanie said, “Lose the pink, all of it!” The space was far too cramped to store their own things, let alone baby gear. Despite the small space for this bathroom renovation, small budget AND a short schedule, they were thrilled with their “new” bathroom and its design. “It’s the best room in the house,” said John.
Alcove and Vanity
Re-tiled BathAll that pink tile in this Wauwatosa home was updated and replaced by warm 4x4 tumbled travertine tile. The walls were painted a soothing green in this bathroom remodel.
Alcove and VanityAn alcove was created by removing half of the doubled wall behind the vanity of this Wauwatosa bathroom. The added 6 inches allowed for a deeper vanity - which meant more counter space. The needed space for a 21" deep linen cabinet was created by removing the wall entirely behind it; the adjoining hall closet "wall" became a sheet of sanded plywood.
